From last week's episode, Tyler self-destructed which Emily Thorne used to her advantage in tying up some lose ends like Frank's wallet as well as his death. The writers said they wanted Tyler's character to be like The Talented Mr. Ripley. Anyone remember that movie? It starred all gorgeous actors, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, and Matt Damon. It was beautifully shot, and I remember being so disturbed by it that I didn't care to see it again. I wonder if a movie like that would get made today in the age of remakes/reboots, sequels, and comic books brought to film.
Anyway after a quick movie rant, back to Revenge. I wasn't surprised by Tyler's demise. Granted I love Emily's revenge and seeing her enact revenge every week is great and instantly gratifying. But wouldn't you say Jack and Daniel are innocents in this and she's ultimately hurting them too? How great is revenge if you hurt the one person you care about? We are also shown how corrupt the Graysons really are. So is Daniel that innocent? One thing for sure, Victoria Grayson deserves her comeuppance, I wonder how Emily is going to handle Charlotte as her half sister. That's one way to ensure Connie gets everything in the divorce.
On a final note, did Treadwell remind anyone of Prof. Plum from Clue? If they remake that movie, he's my casting choice.
